Our hAIR + sCALP tREATMENTS are quick yet highly potent, effective way to provide your hair with tons of health benefits. Think of these hair mask treatments like high powered hair cleansing conditioners, that give your hair benefits like softening and hydrating, a boost to grow, adding shine, and even fighting off infections. We've decided to go straight to the old school Mother Nature route for our hair mask treatments. This collection of hair masks offer, all-natural ingredients that come straight from the Earth. These treatments we have carefully selected will help to nourish, protect, and moisturize your hair, so you can ensure you're putting your best hair forward.
To use: In a bowl add 1 teaspoon of your hair mask (2 teaspoons if your hair is very long or thick) with 1 tablespoon of warm water or Aloe Vera Juice. Mix the water and the hair mask together and press out all of the lumps. Add up to 1 Cup of your favorite moisturizing conditioner and/or 1 cup of your blended fresh ingredient like banana or a DIY deep conditioning hair smoothie recipe. Mix, press out or blend well to a consistency of baby food and strain. The amount of active ingredient depends on the length and thickness of your hair. Apply mix individually on each section, all the way down to the ends. Comb with wide tooth comb or fingers from ends to scalp. Leave in for minimum of 1 hour. Cover your head with a cap. Optional: Sit under a hairdryer for at least 20 minutes for deeper penetration. use as a Pre-poo treatment before washing with shampoo or Co-wash hair in sections 2-3 times with a conditioner, using cool water to make sure all ingredients are out of your hair. Use an old t-shirt or one of our jERSEY kNIT hair towels to squeeze excess water out of your hair. Apply leave-in conditioner

In the Caribbean, we use it traditionally as a natural shampoo or hair mask. It can be used as a prepoo treatment, detangler, leave-in or natural gel to lay down the hair or define the curls.
Prickly Pear belongs to the genus Opuntia of the Cactaceae (cactus) family which is comprised of almost 300 species. It can be found in North and South America, the Caribbean, Africa, Australia and the Mediterranean. Raquette mucilage has this texture because it's a mixture of more than 50 complex polysaccharides including arabinose, galactose, rhamnose, xylose and galacturonic acid.
Prickly Pear can also be eaten as a vegetable and cactus juice can be made from it. It's a great source of dietary fibers, potassium, calcium, magnesium, manganese, chromium and antioxidants such as polyphenols and vitamin C. Prickly pear has amino acids, which naturally stimulate collagen production to promote faster cell turnover. Collagen helps to not only keep skin firm and fresh, but also protects it from the sun, wind and environmental pollutants and that goes for your scalp and strands too. Amino acids also keep the skin, scalp and hair hydrated and promotes a healthy pH balance.
Watermelon is packed with Vitamin C, which helps your body to use non-heme iron – this ensures that enough iron is in your red blood cells to assist in carrying oxygen to your hair follicles, promoting healthy hair. Collagen is also needed for healthy hair growth and watermelon helps promote collagen formation.
Flaxseed contains polyunsaturated fatty acids, essential amino acids, vitamin E, lignans and dietary fibers. It has anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant and anti-cancer activities. There are two varieties of flaxseeds : brown and yellow.

Okra contains a high level of carbohydrates, proteins and minerals. More specifically, the mucilaginous substances are acidic polysaccharides associated with proteins and minerals. It was proven to have anticancer, antimicrobial, hypoglycemic and anti-ulcer activities.

Bentonite clay can offer deep moisture to the hair and scalp. It also deeply cleanses the scalp, removes dead skin cells and toxins, while strengthening the hair and preventing hair loss by clarifying the hair follicles so that they can absorb water, which can contribute to growing thicker, healthy hair.
Yogurt contains probiotic bacteria that promote hair density. It increases the anagen phase of hair follicles. This also helps boost hair growth. It improves scalp health and reduces the clogging of follicles, thus reducing hair fall and hair damage.
Aloe vera is an anti-inflammatory ingredient and can protect against UV radiation, which can strengthen and benefit both your hair and scalp. UV-protective properties will preserve color and shine to keep your hair looking radiant. It even has the power to stave off grease, as aloe vera has special enzymes that can strip the hair (and skin) of excess oils. And if that wasn't enough, aloe vera may help with hair growth, as it both increases blood circulation to the scalp and is full of vitamins A, C and E, which fight inflammation and free radicals.
Avocado is a great source of biotin, and adding this B-complex vitamin back into the diet may help hair to grow more healthily. A 2015 study found that minerals in avocado oil, including potassium and magnesium, may seal cuticle cells, which can help hair look smooth and shiny and prevent it from breaking.
Hibiscus is a wonder herb that helps to strengthen your hair roots, prevents scalp infections while preventing hair damage.
